Wild Chinook Salmon

Wild Chinook Salmon

5.5 - 7.0 oz (SHIPS FROZEN)

The largest of the salmon, chinook are also known as spring or King Salmon since they are the largest wild salmon species.  Our partners harvest them in a small boat hook-and-line fishery in the Haida Gwaii ("islands on the edge of the world"), a remote archipelago on the northwest coast of British Columbia. The chinook's diet consists mainly of fish and invertebrates like squid, shrimp, crab larvae and other crustaceans, which provides for the highest fat content of all salmon (and a rich-flavoured flesh).  Fit for a King!

Portions come skin-on and filleted.

Ocean Wise recommended.

COOKING TIPS

Cooking tips

Chinook (or "King") salmon is incredibly versatile. Its full flavour and meaty flesh can stand up to intense cooking methods (eg. grilling) and strong seasonings, or the simplest treatment like steaming or baking with a little lemon & olive oil. Either way, its rich flavour won't be missed. Chinook salmon has a higher fat content vs. other salmon and, as a result, a more decadent texture and flavour profile. It's a dining experience fit for a king, and one you won't forget.

FAQs

All of our seafood is wild-caught in Canadian waters using sustainable methods without the use of chemicals or additives. Quality like this is hard to reliably find, but we’re here to change that.

No!  Subscriptions are not required, but we do offer the ability to subscribe to your products to help you save time and money.

Yes. Your meat will arrive with dry ice to ensure the product remains frozen while in transit to your doorstep. If your package has been sitting out for an extended period, it is possible the dry ice may have dissipated. Do not worry if your product has started to defrost, it is still perfectly safe to consume if it still feels cold to the touch – simply place the product in your freezer or put it directly in the fridge if you plan on consuming it in the next few days.

Not at all. Dry ice will keep the contents of your package frozen until you arrive home that day! If you live in a house, your package will be left at your front door unless you specify otherwise. If your address has a controlled entrance, you will need to provide a buzzer code for entry and/or inform your concierge of the delivery.
