Wild B.C. Spot Prawns are a delicacy known around the world for their sweet and elegant flavour, large size, and firm texture. The largest of the commercially available shrimp found on the west coast of Canada, Organic Ocean's Spot Prawns are sustainably harvested using baited traps. These traps have little impact on the sea bed and see very little bycatch making them a responsible choice. To make sure stocks remain healthy, the B.C. Spot Prawn fishery only occurs once a year starting in May and runs for an average of 53 days.

Prawns come headless, with shells, and frozen in saltwater.

Cooking tips

Spot Prawns are excellent when eaten raw as sashimi or crudo. If you cook them, they are best cooked shell on - either boiled, sauteed or even on the BBQ. The trick is not to overcook them - you only need 1-2 minutes or until they just turn pink.

Why is your seafood different than what I buy at the store?

All of our seafood is wild-caught in Canadian waters using sustainable methods without the use of chemicals or additives. Quality like this is hard to reliably find, but we’re here to change that.

Do I need a subscription?

No! Subscriptions are not required, but we do offer the ability to subscribe to your products to help you save time and money.

Will my order arrive frozen?

Yes. Your meat will arrive with dry ice to ensure the product remains frozen while in transit to your doorstep. If your package has been sitting out for an extended period, it is possible the dry ice may have dissipated. Do not worry if your product has started to defrost, it is still perfectly safe to consume if it still feels cold to the touch – simply place the product in your freezer or put it directly in the fridge if you plan on consuming it in the next few days.

Do I need to be home to accept my delivery?

Not at all. Dry ice will keep the contents of your package frozen until you arrive home that day! If you live in a house, your package will be left at your front door unless you specify otherwise. If your address has a controlled entrance, you will need to provide a buzzer code for entry and/or inform your concierge of the delivery.
