PREP TIME: 10 mins
COOK TIME: 1 hour 20 mins

Whether it's game day or a Wednesday, nothing says party like buffalo chicken wings...but you can also up the ante and go with the full drumstick, which is what we're doing in this recipe.

This is a simple and tasty classic that will make it a party to remember!

INGREDIENTS:

Servings: 4

8 chicken drumsticks (2.5 - 3.0 lbs total) - you can also do this recipe with chicken wings
2 tbsp baking powder
3/4 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1/3 cup hot sauce (Frank's is a classic!)
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 cup light brown sugar

PREPARATION:

STEP 1
Let your drumsticks come to room temperature and pat them very dry to help them get crispy when cooking.

STEP 2
Preheat the oven to 425 deg F and prepare a baking tray with a wire cooling rack placed on it.

STEP 3
Combine baking powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl.  Toss the drumsticks in the rub and coat all over.

STEP 4

Arrange the drumsticks on the wire cooling rack, leaving plenty of room between each drumstick.  Bake, turning ever 20 minutes, until the drumsticks are cooked through (this could take up to 75 minutes).

STEP 5
While the drumsticks are baking, prepare the buffalo sauce.  In a medium saucepan over medium heat, mix the hot sauce, butter and sugar.  Cook and stir until the sugar has dissolved.  Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature before adding the drumsticks.

STEP 6
When the drumsticks are done, remove from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.  In a large mixing bowl, coat the drumsticks with the sauce.  Serve with classic pairings like blue cheese and fresh celery sticks.
